Suspended, disabled, or banned? You are not alone.

A tweet I posted months ago got quote-tweeted by a much bigger account this week, and within a few hours my account was suspended over it. From what I understand, the reporting system can be used in bulk by groups trying to force someone’s account down, and the suspension notice doesn’t say anything about that possibility, it just cites the general policy. Feels a lot more like volume than an actual violation.

My account was permanently suspended back in June. Filed several separate appeals over about a month before one of them finally worked and the suspension got lifted. Logged in expecting everything to be back to normal and instead got an empty shell, zero followers, zero following, no posts, like the account had just been created. Didn’t touch anything for two days and it slowly filled back in on its own. If this happens to anyone else, just leave it alone and don’t panic, it does come back.

Someone got into my account despite having two-factor authentication turned on, and posted a bunch of spam tagging other spam accounts. I noticed within a day, changed the password, and deleted the spam. Two days later the account gets suspended for spamming. Appealed explaining the hack, and a couple hours later got a reply saying the suspension was upheld. So the account that got compromised is the one paying for it, not whoever actually did it.

After my account got suspended I made a new one on the same laptop my partner also uses for their own account. New one got flagged for ban evasion almost immediately even though I used a different email and phone number. I’m guessing it’s picking up on the device itself being linked to more than one account in the house, not actually me trying to dodge anything. Anyone dealt with a shared-device false flag like this before?

so the suspension itself got lifted after about three weeks but my replies still aren’t showing up under anyone’s posts. no notification saying this label is separate from the suspension or anything, i just noticed on my own that nothing i post gets seen. is this some kind of reach limit thing that sticks around after the account comes back, and does it go away on its own eventually

Filed an appeal, got a generic denial, so I filed a second one thinking maybe a fresh set of eyes would look at it. Instead I got an email saying the new appeal was “connected to your original case” and had been added to that first report instead of being reviewed on its own. So it sounds like there’s no actual second review happening, just the same case getting reopened and stamped again.

Got the “your account has been suspended” message this morning, no warning, nothing. Went to file an appeal and got hit with a rate limit error telling me I’d used the platform too much without a paid subscription, so I couldn’t even submit it properly at first. When I finally got the form to load, it just asks for a “description of the problem,” which is funny because the problem is I don’t know what the problem is. Anyone else stuck explaining a violation they can’t even identify?

Facebook disabled me because of an Instagram account I barely useGot a notice saying my Facebook was suspended because it’s linked to an Instagram account that supposedly violated community standards. The strange part is my Instagram is still completely fine and active, I can log into it right now with no issues. It’s just the Facebook side that’s gone. Filed an appeal explaining the disconnect but haven’t heard anything back yet. Lost access to years of old posts and messages with family overseas, which is honestly the part that stings the most. Anyone know if the two review processes are actually separate, or if fixing one side would eventually fix the other?
